Please know I meant that in the best possible way! I meant to say it in the sense that (from my perspective at least) you put comedy first, and that you don't give a shit about the hype around female comedians, you just focus on being honest and funny. I really intended for it to be a positive comment--I'm sincerely sorry if it didn't come off that way!

I couldn't figure out how to post a comment, but wanted to say I completely agree with your point about Maron being so honest in his podcast, and inspiring his guests to do that same. And I didn't mean to downplay Maron's role in WTF's success. There are obviously tons of podcasters who interview the same guests, but few do it with the same clarity and depth that Maron does.

Hell. I can’t figure out tumblr comments at all! I’m replying to this :) …sure! I figured you, like me, are a fan, and I was just adding to it all.

Heh. And, as far as me not giving a shit…I do, but I’ve realized there’s nothing I can, actually, do about my age and looks. Oh I could be skinnier, but aging is inevitable and…I have looked like I look, give or take 30lbs, since I’ve was 16. I have tried to explain that you could clean me up, Hollywood, and make this into a lawyer or judge…but, so far, no takers. Showbiz people’s SEEM to have a blinder with (not just me I know) people (most often women, but men too) they dont know what to DO with. Its like theyre thinking to themselves„ “well, I don’t want to fuck her, but people think she’s talented” …I don’t know, offhand, how to turn that into money. So…I continue doing what I do and ignore them as they do me. We, Occassionally, Notice one another. ;)

My comment before interesting reblog: I’d say maron’s podcast appeal came before the big names. He, genuinely, opens a vein and invites you (whichever guest) to open one too. He gets people to be very honest because of how honest/ revealing he is. It’s a gift. A terrible, terrible gift ;)

1.5 million of my grandparent’s generation were systematically rounded up, shot, marched and variously killed. My grandmother was marched out of Turkey, after watching neighbors and siblings die, taken so quickly from her village that, “we had to leave bread still in the oven.” My grandparents were from two small villages in Turkey, dispossessed of their lands, attacked, abused and starved. If that’s not genocide…dictionaries need to be rewritten. The world does not know of this, countries do not acknowlegde it.
